this happened to me when my daughter who is now 32 lol was in kindergarten she was just barely 5 years old when they went on a field trip and I let her go but I followed behind the bus lol and was at the zoo when they arrived I stayed away but I was close enough to keep an eye out lol

Unpopular opinion but if a parent pays for their own tickets and transportation, there should be no issues for them to participate. Also, if the mom doesn’t want the child to go on the bus but still wants them to go to the field trip they should be able to meet up with the class at the field trip.

I go on every single field trip. If for any reason I cannot go, my daughter’s dad can’t go, who my sister whose daughter also goes to the school my daughter cannot go. She gets five years old and at this age I’m not comfortable with the number of children out, weighing the number of adult adults so unless she has her own special adult designated to her, I’ll pass.

I get this. My mom was meeting us at a zoo in Chicago when I was in kindergarten because she didn’t get picked to go and the chaperone lost me. When my mom walked up, I was crying outside of a random animal house alone. She has more restraint than I because if that happened to my 6-yr old TODAY?

I’m the same exact way! I chaperone for every single field trip. This year, they are going to a pool for water day but no parents, so my child will be staying home.
