If you already have an Amex card, there’s really no point in getting the Chase Amazon card. Once Amex gives you one hard inquiry, they’re usually unlikely to do another, which makes it easier to get more of their cards. Plus, Amex already has its own Amazon card that gives 5% back on purchases, so you’re better off just sticking with that.

Also something I learned recently is it's not 3% all around, straight cash back for balance is only 2.1%, but 3% cash back if you convert to your buying power
