See I dont think raising the minimum wage would fix the issue. I think companies with over 50 employees should have a distinct hierarchy (which they usually already have), and a manager can only earn up to like 50% (using this number as an example, not literal) more than the lowest paid employee directly below them and run that all the way up the ladder. Then total Shareholder earnings are only allowed to be like 20% (again just an example number for the sake of clarity) of total company profits per year

im training to be a bookkeeper so I am qualified to say this: wages are a business expense, if you cannot pay your expenses, your business is already failing. Just like how you have to pay the bank & power companies, you have to pay your workers & at least in Australia, businesses don't pay tax until after they've paid all their expenses. Gross income was $200K but "expenses" took up $150K? well looks like u only owe taxes on that $50K (minus any GST tax you claim on things you had to buy) individuals are not so lucky, if I earned $200K, I'd owe taxes on that minus any deductions & you know unless I'm doing some shading shit, those deductions aren't gonna add up to $150K

Raising rhe minimum wage wont work, there are many other things at play causing this crisis. First off we need to tax the rich on any money they make from their buisness, as well as money made on stocks. Not when the stock is pulled out but as its building. This is the main way they have so much money snd leverage. They use their stocks to gain leverage amd get a higher credit

OK as a minimum wage worker I'm gonna give my two cents. STOP raising minimum wage. it doesn't help, it actually often makes things worse. Minimum wage goes up, so do prices, and then our hours go down. minimum wage workers will be paid more per hour but be given less hours of work.
