Sometimes it doesn’t feel like just a game. Creatures of Sonaria, in its Legacy version, felt like a world I grew up in without even realizing it. Since 2020, I was there, watching how everything began, how every creature, every map, and every moment had something special that can’t really be recreated now. Legacy wasn’t perfect, and that’s exactly what made it unique. There were bugs, weird moments, chaos… but also a kind of magic that newer versions just can’t copy. It was that feeling of discovering everything for the first time, getting lost in the map without knowing what would come next, making memories without thinking that one day all of it would disappear. Now that the beta server is going away, it doesn’t feel like just another update. It feels like saying goodbye to a whole chapter. To hours, laughter, and moments that only existed there. Legacy wasn’t just a version of the game… it was an era. And even if the game continues, even if everything changes, that version will always stay with me. Because no matter how many updates come out, they’ll never replace what it felt like to experience Legacy from the very beginning. In the end, Legacy doesn’t completely disappear… it lives on in the memories of those who were there.

I remember first joining in 2020 thinking it'd be really cool to, well, survive as a random creature. And it was. I got the free Aole species and I've kept it ever since. Never traded it or sold it, so I still have MY og Aolenus. I always thought that silly bird was the coolest thing in the game. I also remember playing this game with someone I loved once, and dated for 5 years.. We would kos, take care of random babies, nest, or just sit around watching the chaos unfold. These are memories I won't ever be able to recreate, but I'm happy I have them and that they were made. I just wish my computer wasn't broken so I could roam the map one last time.

i will never be able to experience legacy like the others. i wont have good turn rate and less lag, because i never had a pc. i had a growing jealousy of pc players because i could never get up to their skill. i still feel like this in recode, i feel a little closer to being as good as any pc player. but i will never quite get there. we have all grown, but others wont grow as fast as others. my childish hatred is long gone for pc players, but i will always have a bit of jealousy. i am a better person than who i was before, and legacy is a memory i wont cherish like the others

ive never felt more connected with people than when I played legacy. Things were so much simpler, no mutations, no traits, no over priced slots or species. When the game was about the community it created. I will always remember legacy for all of the good that it did, Cos hasn't felt that way in a very long time.

ill say it, cos PEAKED during legacy. The game itself wasnt as polished as it is today, but just the community, the people and overall vibe of the game are something we'll never get back. Everyday I wish i could go back to the days of coming home from school or finishing my online work to hop on cos, I met so many good friends that i dont even talk to regularly anymore and i miss them, alot. Ill miss legacy, yknow what no, ill GRIEVE legacy. Coincidentally the date its shutting down is also the date i have my first final exam, i started playing cos back in primary school and now im nearly finishing high school. It really is just the end of an era [weep]

Legacy 2020 felt like a literal home,not just a game,the friendly community,creature designs with a soul and much thought put into it and a beatiful map made this game something special,something i was happy to play and lost feeling of time in,i really miss that time and that feeling,Now it is just a heartless,soulless creature collector game with a toxic community and stuff no one needs,sure legacy was never "that good" mechanically wise and all that,it was laggy and also a little unfinished but it was perfect in my,and many others eyes. I Wish i could go back.

никогда не играла в легаси, но стоило мне туда зайти я увидела что существа раньше, реально были существами, чем то не обычным, они цепляли своим дизайном. Сейчас же сонария скатилась до создания милых существ из реальной жизни. Ничего цепляющего.

I remember i was so new to legacy, and i wanted to get my first glimmer, i chose a beezu and hunted for a few days with this friend (ive long forgotten their name but they loved heiso) when i got the beezu i was so happy, made a skin just like the default but changed the brown pieces to black because i didnt like the brown. Since the recode update, i still have my beezu and its been with me since the start of the game, about a 6 year old slot. I love it dearly and i as much as every cos player now will miss legacy

i remember the first time i came across this game i fell in love with the idea of creature survival games but what really got me hooked up to the game was seeing the original Trutholbyeva for the first time, it was one of the first species i saw and i instantly fell in love with it and a few others that gave off the same creepy vibe. I remember sitting on top of oasis afk gathering mush to buy a trial slot but i still didnt have the courage to play often until i was able to get my hands on the specie. ive been maining it since the day i saw it and kept that trial slot since then till much later after recode dropped.

When creatures of sonaria first came out I was very young and from my perspective it reminded me of avatar and it felt magical in a way. When I first joined the game I remember playing as a brenquek (ik I spelled it wrong) and I saw a verdant warden and I loved the design of that creature so much because it reminded me of a bunny and I loved bunnies at the time and I still do, and the vibe and look of the game was something I’ve never seen before so I became obsessed with this game, it was my whole childhood and now the new version of the game feels like another dragon adventure copy partially because I’ve grown up and later kinda moved on and I play from time to time and the other part well it looks exactly like it. Now don’t get me wrong the new version of the game is way less laggy and better quality then the original and im happy for that but the old game had a certain unique vibe to it and most of the creatures that got reworked look kinda off compared the older versions. So I’ll miss legacy because of that.
