Chocolate Syrup Recipe ⬇️ Welcome back to Make It Don’t Buy It, where I teach you how to make everyday foods you normally grab at the store right at home. Today we’re making homemade chocolate syrup. Just like I always say, this isn’t about making everything from scratch all the time. It’s about knowing how, in case you ever need or want to. Some seasons you’ll make things like this, some seasons you won’t, and both are totally okay. Having the option matters. This is a perfect easy recipe to replace your store bought syrup. Chocolate syrup from the store might taste good, but it’s usually packed with things like high-fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, and preservatives. Ingredients that don’t do our kids any favors. These extras can add unnecessary sugar and chemicals to their diet. Making your own at home is super easy and lets you keep it simple with just a few real ingredients, so your kids get the sweet treat they love without all the stuff they don’t need. Ingredients: -1 cup water -1/2 cup cocoa powder -1/4-1/3 cup pure maple syrup (depending on your sweetness level, I do 1/4 cup) -1 tablespoon vanilla extract -Pinch of salt (optional) Instructions: -In a medium saucepan, whisk together all ingredients. -Set the saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally until the mixture is well combined. -Increase the heat slightly to bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Continue simmering for 5-10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the syrup thickens to your desired consistency. -Allow the syrup to cool completely. Transter it to a jar, syrup will thicken in the refrigerator. -Use 1-2 tablespoons of syrup in a glass of milk or drizzle over your favorite desserts! #homemaderecipes #kidsnacks #momhacks
