@fenrir_026: Part 5 November 18, 1952: Lieutenant Elmer Royce Williams is on a bombing mission over North Korea with a squadron of four U.S. Navy F9F Panthers, about 64 kilometers from the Soviet border. While still en route over the Sea of Japan, the fleet’s radar detects a group of modern MiG-15s heading south. The bombing mission is canceled, and the Panthers change course to intercept the enemy. Half of the American fighters are forced to return due to mechanical problems, leaving Williams and his wingman alone against elite Soviet pilots. That is how Lieutenant Royce Williams fought and defeated four Soviet MiG-15s. #KoreanWar #ColdWar #USNavy #NavalAviation #aircombat
