The hemp rope under the seal could sometimes be asbestos inside of it, here in norway when i get job likes this i allways be carefull to not spread the dust to much.

1820, but I’m not sure what year the plumbing was installed. I have cast iron drain pipes. Not sure if there would be a current need to change anything, they drain fine.
