@microlifecontent: For all of my microbiology students, today let's go over one of the most important stains you will ever do in your microbiology lab: the Gram stain. The gram stain is used to get quick identification of the color and morphology of the bacteria. Gram positive bacteria have a thicker layer of peptidoglycan in their cell walls compared to gram negative bacteria One important thing to remember while gram staining, make sure you are quick with the decolorizer.
