i can’t lie we’ve thrown a party before for my son and it was such a waste of time and money LOL i don’t plan on throwing him one until he’s 5 and can tell me what he wants to do. so don’t think your son is missing out on no party

when you get the chance to throw your son a party, put that money towards an experience instead. parties are a waste of money and they enjoy the experience way more than a party!

Ask your meat department when they do markdowns on meat, and get yourself there for that time. Game nights with friends are far superior than going out for a dinner you can’t afford. A deck of cards/board games, some snacks and you won’t be missing anything. We have been doing rotating houses for 10+ years.

this is so real. this has been my biggest struggle. I don't have the money for the constant coffees or food during meet ups. cheap or free or my forte. we don't really eat meat. kids don't 90% of the time and my hubs has phases where he wants meat. ugh struggle is real.

If you can when I was a single mom something that helped me was I’d get Christmas presents like 2 per kid each month and put them in a tote and started saving for birthdays months in advance, I’d put away money here and there. I was always planning things out super ahead of time and it helped alot.

My kids say they don’t remember the poverty of our early years, and even with birthday party pics, remember almost nothing before 5/6 yo.

We have the means but I will not throw big parties. We just do a cake and a few presents. I made a cute hand painted banner for my daughter’s last birthday too. She was underwhelmed by it 😂😂😂

I know you said it taste the same, but add a little steak seasoning to your own turkey and it literally taste the same as beef!! Also if you are looking for a steak, because it’s nice to treat yourself every once in a while… Aldi sells a single steak for seven dollars, and it is so tender and feels me and my husband up!
