@justin00harvey: I keep seeing these Indian street food videos and it’s honestly disgusting how unsanitary most of it looks. Food cooked on the side of dirty roads with flies landing all over it, people cooking with their bare hands that look like they haven’t been washed, reused oil that’s been sitting there for days, meat and vegetables out in the heat with no refrigeration, and dirty water being used to rinse things. It’s complete chaos and looks like a health hazard waiting to happen. This is everyday life for millions of people over there, and now we’re bringing huge numbers of people from that exact environment straight into Canada. Then we act surprised when standards start slipping here too — food safety issues, hygiene problems, and street food setups that don’t meet our health codes. I’m not trying to be cruel, but we need to be honest. If this is the normal standard of cleanliness where most of our immigrants are coming from, then mass immigration from these areas is dragging our country down instead of lifting it up. Canada used to have much higher standards for public health and sanitation. We should not be lowering our expectations to match conditions from other countries.
