should have sat down with the kid AS SOON AS SCHOOL WAS DONE, and laid out a fair amount for him to contribute for HIS expenses: all his food, and a third of the gas/electric/internet. THAT would be reasonable, fair, and equitable.

I agree he should’ve been paying rent from the beginning. He could’ve at least offered to pay half for the roof I mean that was the house he grew up in and still currently staying at. And yes like the mom said he wouldn’t have been able to save even half of that amount if he wasn’t living with them.
