At All Costs is a beautiful love song, if you listen to it completely out of the context of the scene, like pick your otp & imagine them singing it to each other, suddenly it works! but having it be a duet between Asha & Magnifico and directed at the "wishes" doesn't hit the same at all

Ughhh Wish just frustrates me to no end because this idea could have been amazing. You are made of stardust and so is everything and everyone around you so when a star grants your wish that is you and your community working together to achieve something. That could have worked so well!! and be tied up with the villain taking and bottling up wishes, that need to interact with YOU because YOU are stardust and that's what makes the wish possible!! But this damn movie...

the fact they removed starboy for a cute sidekick when they simply could have just made the goat cuter or make starboy occasionally transform into it 😭 this movie could've been so amazing and ashas design is great

I agree that it's not the best song. but it sets up the final "this wish" when Magnifico says that there will be no more wishing on stars, and Asha realizes that they are all stars, which is how they're able to defeat Magnifico. it's cheesy, but I thought it worked. I'm biased though because my little one is obsessed with the music from wish and asks tons of questions about it. but that's the thing with art, it's subjective, and we are all able to take different things from it

I like most of the songs in this movie, especially "Knowing what we know now" (and I saw the movie in French, maybe it helped with the lyrics 😅) but I hated "I'm a star", because the rythm is so strange, I feel like it doesn't really know what to tell or how it should sound

Right? And the plot could have been sooo good, but they scrapped it and gave us that mess of a movie. It was a compilation of all of Disney, and it’s just chaos the whole time, and the bad guys role doesn’t really make sense, and in the final version, we don’t even really need a heroin, they all gave up there dreams in order to be a part of the community, with the slim possibility it could come true. It could have been an allegory for growing up, but they just ruined it.
