$80 an hour is unheard of, i went to three mechanics in austin and it was between 125-192 per hour.

Car dealers will never be satisfied, they want to be number 1 priority, want the car done yesterday, and still have the audacity to argue over the prices. running a dealership recon shop is taking years off my life

end of the day, it's a business. Loyalty sometimes means nothing when they aren't loyal to you.
if my friend has a business, I'm paying full price. I don't want a discount

Bring prices up, some people will pay and for the ones that ask for a discount, give them a discount to what you’d normally charge. People always want to feel like they’re getting a bargain or that they were able to negotiate to their advantage. So 120/hr then discount to 80/hr

80$ an hour and they want cheaper is insane As a dealer tech we charge 180$ an hour side work 100$ an hour 80 is the cheapest you will find anywhere that’s actually mind blowing

$80 is a great rate for a dealer. That’s about what my garages charge me. Unfortunately, I agree with what you say. The garages do put my work off for regular customers. I understand the customer needs their car, and they pay more. But I never argue the price, I pay it to get it done. And my car depreciates while it’s there. I’ve got cars in garages now that’s been there 5 months plus! It’s money tied up I could buy other inventory and it’s dropping in value. I need them fixed!

$80 per hour is the brother in law discount papa! You should be at least $120 at the very minimum bro. Techmetric will show you what your affected labor rate is and you'll see that you're giving the farm away!

Can I come manage your shop for a couple weeks and help you? There are so many things I’ve learned in the last 10 years managing shops, I could really help add value and still keep your customer costs pretty low.
