@gabesco: You look at the map and see so many towns along the route so you'd think you'd be okay but no, I learned the hard way you have to pack so many more snacks than you'd expect #caminodesantiago #caminoportugues #backpacking #portugal
Spanish tortilla will save you, the small markets will probably have them

My guy... you're walking 20 miles a day. This is a fight to get as many calories into your body as you're burning. Don't sweat some sugar, consider it a dirty bulk. You cannot get enough calories from fruit and healthy snacks alone

hi, we are not a granola tipe of breakfast people. But if you dont want sweets in any pastery you can have a bread with ham and cheese. small towns don't have granola. We are freshly baked bread type for breakfast or Natas and coffee.

the point of this is saying I didn't realize there would be so few places to pick up food between the big towns

Ähm ?! you are burning over 2500 calories + your metabolic rate et rest so what do you want with apples and granola?? You need Calories! I was planning everything I will eat next day, you can do it with all the apps for the Camino. There you can also see where the fountains are! You don’t need to starve!

Granola bars (especially if you have 8 at a time like you said in a comment) have the same amount of sugar as a pastry, what are you on about 😅

Empadas are pastries with meat inside. Try that as a compromise. Or ask for a tosta mista.

This is really great to know because no one really talks about finding real food on the trail if they didn’t pack anything

So if you can’t find granola bars (muesli or oats bars in Europe btw), why don’t you buy any other food at the store? Like bread with different things like Nutella or cheese or prociutto. Cookies, high protein yoghurt etc.
