Those are the only type of Pilates studios I only go to now. 1) Instructors that have real Pilates training qualifications, 2) Experienced instructors, 3) Class sizes capped at 6 or 8 students. 4) Studios that train on a variety of apparatus types, 5) Studios that play no music or play it very very low, so you can actually hear all the cues properly. 6) Instructors that actually provide corrections.

I think people are going to realize Pilates and yoga doesn’t actually give physical results, and it’s going to keep trending away from traditional methods, into more hybrid methods, like Lagree and mega reformer, which do give more physical results.

I’m surprised there’s barely any showers in the studios. When they’re full on heated workouts at 100 degrees. Do you have any take on this? Is it because there’s 30 ppl in one class?

Mixed equipment studios are gonna rise. Of you’re not comprehensive…it’s a wrap!

I think 12+ reformer studios are going down to 6 reformers, more personal almost private. That’s where the “luxury” feel will come from instead of just an aesthetic studio.

Aesthetic Pilates is dead. There are too many studios now. 75% are bound to close. And the great instructors are going to get a MASSIVE pay raise.

Personally , when I want to go to a Pilates class, I go to classical Pilates studio with older students in the class

It’s true I am willing to drive further for a not so fancy studio because they consistently have great instructors who clearly put a lot of consideration into their class flow

The good studios have lead instructors that collaborate with their junior instructors. (Giving great feedback so their classes can shine).

Caliber of teachers plus beauty of the studio. If there’s not both I’m not staying

I agree! The market is so over saturated that the caliber of the instructor is going be why people come and stay. That’s what’s going to set studios apart form one another.

Agreed, quality not quantity for both studios and teachers. When studios invest in experienced teachers providing a quality experience, students not only come, they stay and true community is built.

Just opened a studio and yes I do love a beautiful studio but the most important thing to me was my instructors and our classes.
