Instead, it is a colloquial phrase people use to describe various types of dull aches or sharp pains in the testicles, groin, or lower pelvic region. In many mild cases, this discomfort is actually epididymal hypertension, a harmless but uncomfortable condition more commonly known as "blue balls." This occurs when prolonged sexual arousal causes blood to pool heavily in the genitals without release, creating an aching pressure in the testicles that naturally subsides once the vascular congestion resolves. However, if this pelvic or testicular pain is persistent, severe, or accompanied by other symptoms, it likely points to a legitimate medical condition rather than temporary arousal. It is frequently linked to epididymitis, which is the painful inflammation of the coiled tube at the back of the testicle that stores and carries sperm, often triggered by a bacterial infection.
