Happy birthday to him, but I gotta hijack this a bit! I was at Herman Kiefer when I was about four years old—my mom said it was a contagion hospital. Several other kids and I with complications from measles were put there; I had measles encephalitis. This was a year or so before a vaccine was available. I cried when my first child got her MMR in gratitude that she wouldn’t go through what I did.
