(The Great Simplification Podcast - Episode 217 - Wisdom in a World in Crisis: The Counterintuitive Need to Slow Down and Find Spaciousness)

You’re confusing capitalism with commerce. Selling the excess produce of your labour is Commerce. Capitalism is owning the means of production & forcing others to labour for you, so you can pocket the profits. We will always have commerce, but capitalism has reached its end.

I hate capitalism with every fiber of my being. I know I was meant to wake up just before the sun, tend to my plants and animals, and take a nap around lunch, and spend the night telling stories around the hearth.

Almost every tool invented by man has been used by a small % of man to exploit others for profit. The more time workers gain via tech & tools, the more the Corporations/Companies try to make us produce.
