i think it makes life more worth living when you only have one shot and you can use it to be joyful and enjoy your food and leisure activities. You can love your partner and family and pets and every day you know this is the experience you chose. 🤷🏻♀️

We are scientifically eternal. The matter in our bodies has existed since the big bang, and in one form or another, will always exist. Our experience is one moment in the journey of the matter and energy that form our minds and bodies. That is beautiful. When a flower blooms, we don’t say the flower is worthless because it eventually wilts. We appreciate the beauty, temporary, fleeting even.

as an atheist I think the value I place on life is much higher than someone who believes they will live for eternity after death. I only get one shot. and so does everyone else. that one shot is the most precious thing imaginable. I don't want anybody to miss because I don't want to miss myself.

Why do children build sandcastles? Why do we pour love into our pets? Why do we travel the world without taking pictures of every single possible memory? Life is transient by its nature. When I stopped believing in an eternity, it was SO freeing. I didn't have to live to some higher purpose, so I could just... be.

It's not even "being okay with it". It's not a choice. If there's no evidence there's nothing, there's a great chance that there is, well, nothing. It is what it is. Me being okay or not has nothing to do with it, life and the world isn't my personal pick and choose. it's my job to accept certain things and also uncertainty and make life worth it.
