i think loud backtrack in kpop are common but still very annoying, mostly because they pretty much dont need that. plus as an ult engene i noticed they're voices lacking a bit because of the great performance and jungwon (my bias) skipped some lines to def to breath and not to prove they were singing live. still great btw

my personal opinion: they're singing live, but indeed there's a backtrack. i think there's 2 backtrack, 1 from the song, and 2nd is kinda prerecorded that had more raw vocal. the 2nd bt was louder than the 1st one, and the bt is also lauder at some part like when they do falsetto or part with a hard choreos. but they're indeed sing it live you can heard they live voice clearly at some part.

In my opinion! I dont really care if its a bit loud backtrack, but if I can’t even hear their vocals over the backtrack, the enjoyment of the performance isn’t gonna be as good as if there singing with like not much backtrack! But I get it, they’ve been dancing nonstop for 40 mins so I kinda get why there’s a bit loud backtrack sometimes 😭

another way to tell is if a group uploads the dance practice of a specific performance, often times they'll use the audio they use on stage and you can hear that they don't use the studio version, but a pre-recorded "live" track that plays during their actual performance to sound "live," if that makes sense

and Coachella is really loud and it's ok if they have a really loud backtrack so you still hear the song playing I know singing live is important but singing and dancing is really hard I know you will say that's there job BLA BLA BLA but singing in really loud crowd is really hard imagine fighting over the loud crowd singing there lungs out so the audience can hear them is crazy
