spoiler alert: never😂 they were fixing it for 30 years, it was fixed for 2 months and an earthquake ruined it again. even after 6 years we are struggling to fix people's homes so this probably won't be fixed in any of our lifetimes

i'm 32 years old and i've never seen it without scaffolding lol... it seems like as soon as one part is finished being restored, another needs restoring. there was a pretty bad earthquake in Zagreb 6 years ago so the cathedral was unusable up until very recently - now i think it's only open to the public for special celebrations like Christmas and Easter, but i could be wrong

never, its made of bad material (limestone) with keeps on melting and even if they wanted to change material they cant because its protected cultural monument
