You handled it really well. Future advice is you dont fully have to develop breasts to have a need for a sports bra or crop top. The breasts can become sensitive in the beginning of puberty and the uniform may cause some uncomfortable issues. But honestly alot of Dads avoid these conversations, it really shows she trusts you and can talk so well about this.

As a mom of a girl athlete, let her wear it. They are not real bras, they are more like training bras and at her age, that is fine. Also, they add another layer over that area. My daughter didn't like the feel of the hogu without one.

I’d let her wear one, as yes, functionally she does not need them, but maybe she wants to wear one to cover up. Tops also slip and maybe she wants to cover her chest in those cases.
