⬇️Build Details⬇️ Lan Wangji's cosplay outfit is complete. I officially started this project on the 21st of September, and completed it today, the 5th of June. Over 200 hours of work and I have finally reached the finish line for the outfit. This is the largest portion of this cosplay DONE. There are a few versions of Lan Wangji/Lan Zhan, but my version is primarily inspired by his iconic outfit from the live action Cdrama, The Untamed. I did, however, keep a few references to the anime and of course added some of my own artistic touches✨️ The first few layers are simple, as they are mostly covered up by the decorated layers. The undershirt is a combination of cotton and Burlington fabric, and the only part of this visible is the collar. I made matching trousers for comfort. The next layer up is the long shirt, made of a white cotton/polyester blend, with a double-layered neck placket, the inner one being blue. Chiffon skirt: This is pleated at approximately 4 cm in and is a wrap around style skirt. The cloud patterned collar: It is made of the same material as the long shirt (cotton/polyester blend). I scanned in the page with my reference from the official art book and scaled it up so I could transfer the design onto the fabric. I then proceeded to trace along all the cloud detailing with metallic silver gutta. The empty space was then filled in with pearl white gutta--a technique I repeated for almost all blank space on the decorated areas (see: chiffon jacket). I dyed a light blue gradient to the inner jacket and attached a blue leaf brocade to all edges. Now the Chiffon jacket: the piece that took the absolute longest time. Sewing it was quite simple, and I pleated the collar around chest-height to later add the decorational clasps. On the back, I used the same technique as the cloud patterned collar to create a mountainscape painting of Gusu... but I designed this painting. I added the Lan Clan motif to the sleeves and added the pearl white detailing for complexity. Added the 3d modelled clasps, and I could declare this part of the project DONE. . #cosplay #danmei #lanwangji #theuntamed #mdzs
