@downtownnyc: This week, with the help of Chef Marcus Samuelsson, we’re going on a culinary journey through Lower Manhattan, paying visit to the dedicated chefs and restaurateurs who keep the city fed. Dubbed “The United Tastes of America,” our six-part series spotlights our neighborhood’s diverse restaurant scene, starting with one of Lower Manhattan’s newer arrivals – Maison Passerelle. Located inside of French luxury retailer Printemps, Maison Passerelle showcases the flavors of Haiti and the French-colonized African diaspora. Three-time James Beard award-winner chef Gregory Gourdet, who is himself of Haitian descent, discusses some of the celebrated restaurant’s standout dishes, including the grouper and the dry-aged duck, and why it was so important to highlight oft-overlooked cuisines inside the signature French department store. Head to the link in our bio for the full series 🔗 @PRINTEMPS
