I applied to study a grad certificate of cybersecurity at UNSW, and i understand that this doesn’t mean anything to employers unless it’s supplemented by the technical skills learned through the certificates that you mentioned in step1. Do you think it’s still worth me studying it to eventually go onto a masters?

I am Cybersecurity graduate with a Sec+ certificate, and working as an AI Analyst. Currently doing SAL1 on TryHackMe and have two interviews this week for SOC roles. You video definitely helped me open my eyes to the reality of the work market right now and I cant wait to start my journey! Thank you so much! But I think we also need a plan for people who already have a professional certification, a degree, and 1–2 years of experience, but still feel lost and don’t know how to grow, land better opportunities with a higher salary, or which career path they should pursue.

Thank you, this is gold. After lots of research and comparisons on my end, the certs and roadmap you laid out match some of the certs I identified and take it to the next level with the practical certs you’ve included. I have been in a senior security role for 15 years, and I am looking to pivot into the digital space. I identified the CISSP as a management cert, and according to Anthropic Claude, my experience and exposure covers domains 1, 5, and 7, but I lack the technical expertise. Do you think that after step 1 I could take the CISSP if I prepare for it, would I meet the requirements? Before continuing with step 2 afterward.
