@travelirie: #photopostcampaign 1. Go in shoulder season (May or September). Fewer crowds, lower prices, longer days. September adds a real shot at the Northern Lights too. 2. Rent a 4WD. F-roads require it by law. It also handles Iceland's unpredictable weather far better than a standard car. 3. Book accommodation early. Popular stops along the Ring Road fill up months in advance, especially Vik and Jökulsarlón. 4. Drive the Ring Road slowly. Route 1 circles the whole island. Give it 7 to 10 days minimum. The best stops are often unmarked. 5. Explore the Westffords or Eastfjords. Same dramatic scenery as the south coast. A fraction of the tourists. 6. Layer up. Weather can shift from sun to sleet in 20 minutes. Base layer, mid-layer, waterproof shell, even in summer. 7. Budget more than you think. Iceland is expensive, especially food. Expect $250-400+ per day for two, all in. 8. Don't chase the Northern Lights. Get the Aurora Forecast app, find dark skies, and be patient. Clear skies beat a high KP index every time. 9. Ring Road. Chase waterfalls on the south coast Skógafoss, Seljalandsioss, and Svartifoss are all within driving distance of each other. Do them in one day along the Ring Road. 10. Respect the landscape. Moss and lava fields take decades to grow. Stay on marked paths. Off-road driving is illegal and causes permanent damage. #icelandtravel #springtravel #traveltips #traveltiktok
