We don’t cover ours because we are in TX, and I maintain it weekly. The leaves are a pain in the fall, but it always looks good. I always say I wish it was covered, but my husband likes the way it looks uncovered all year.

im an Aussie here and I have to ask, when you "close the pool" for winter, do you guys stop running the pump and cleaner? I ask because we are currently "closing" our poop for winter which means switching the solar heating to winter mode, dropping the pump running time from 9 hours to 2 per day, covering it up and then checking the pool cleaner is not stuck etc every few weeks so when we open back up in about 4.5 months, its still clear and shouldn't need much more than a chemical check #curious 🥰

Wait until water temp goes below 60 to close in the fall. Open in the spring before water temps rise above 60. Algae won’t fill your pool that way. You will close and open with clear water.
