The original song dropped in 1987 and quickly became a global hit, reaching number one in over 20 countries. It’s known for that clean pop sound and Astley’s deep voice, but here it’s stripped back and rebuilt with warm horns, steady drums, and a soulful feel that fits right into a vintage Detroit-style studio session.
