@holistic.le: When I mention active ingredients, I mean skincare ingredients that aren’t supporting characters like moisturizers and cleansers, but THE star of the show… Ingredients that are intended to ACTIVEly create change in your skin to target your skin concerns. More often than not, people are using too many actives at once and then their skin barrier gets disrupted and then nothing works and their skin is angrier than ever. The key is to pick your TOP skin concern and choose ONE active to target this top concern. Thereafter, when your skin is comfortable with your chosen active, you can consider additional actives if needed. While many different actives can produce benefits, these are the ones that I have found are best (both through research and anecdotally). This list also excludes steroid prescriptions or antibiotics because in my opinion, those options aren’t sustainable long-term. A few notes: -SIV serum is a biome balancing serum by the company SIV -ketoconazole is literally Nizoral anti=dandruff shampoo (to be used as a face mask for 3-5 minutes then rinsed off) As always, I hope this helps 😘 #azelaicacid #matureskin #retinoid #eczema #acnetreatment
