Y’all are kind of focusing on the wrong part. The issue isn’t that she’s bubbly being upbeat or friendly isn’t a bad thing at all. It’s that her bubbly persona doesn’t match her behavior behind the scenes. When someone comes off super sweet and positive, but is also talking negatively about a coworker, it creates a disconnect that can feel inauthentic or off-putting. So it’s less about judging bubbly people, and more about recognizing that personality alone doesn’t tell the full story. Someone can present one way outwardly and act completely different privately. That’s why the real message is: don’t take appearances at face valuepay attention to actions too.

People were talking so badly about a professor in grad school like that but later he became my mentor and I realized how kind he was and he taught me so much. He also appeared cold and distant but that's because he's just a straightforward person and doesn't entertain niceties like that.

I think it’s less about bubbly and more about some people are just like that and that specific person just so happened to be bubbly. I mention this because me and my family/in laws have bubbly personalities and value integrity etc.
