you are literally the only creator on this app that I will sit through a sponsored post for. I'll probably never buy Patagonia provisions because they're ridiculously expensive but I respect what they do as a company.

We’re so glad you enjoyed them! And love this explainer - if you look on the back of that sardine box it says “Size Matters” for the reason you articulate 🙃 but also eating lower on the food chain is lower impact on the ocean for the same reason!

wow. blue fin can get huge. I've gone tuna fishing off the Oregon Coast. The albacore tuna is typically 14 to 20 pounds. So not blue fish tuna every day but my home canned albacore is better because it's smaller? would love you to talk about that.

Anna T. :
If you want to eat tuna more frequently, like 2-3 times per week, then buy the "cheap" stuff which is called Light Chunk tuna/skipjack which is lower in mercury than the "premium" albacore tuna. Light Chunk tuna is made from smaller, less long lived species so they don't bioaccumulate as much mercury as albacore tuna which are much larger and longer lived fish.

Is it true that Skipjack Tuna is the better option over Albacore because Skipjack has more Selenium, which binds to the Mercury before we even eat it and makes it safer?

What about the Safe Catch tuna brand that supposedly tests every single tuna they catch for Mercury? I'm assuming that brand is okay to eat every day?

I thought tuna also had selenium in it, which counteracts the mercury?
