if i try to muffle the sound it just hurts from holding in all the pressure also most of the time i cant stop it from being loud and sometimes putting my hand over my mouth to try to make it quiet will just amplify the sound if im not quick enough to get my mouth fully covered

I've noticed that I automatically inhale first, which is entirely involuntary, which I feel increases the intensity behind the sneeze. I have successfully managed to hold back a few times, but not every time.

I can't control it. My sneezes are always very loud. I try to muffle it in public but it is still loud.

Sometimes I can nearly shut it off entirely, especially in a situation like late night next to my wife or in a meeting ect. When in an open space I give it a bit of extra push and get it out of my system entirely. Summary: It's not about the sound and more about sneezing out whatever is causing it to avoid having to sneeze again. Same with a cough.

There are 2 ways of how I suppress the the sound of my sneeze. First one is to sneez into my palm(s) of my hand(s), and I know that's not sanitary thing to do. The second one is to sneeze to the inside of my elbow. Also, I tried to sneez in a laidy like way (ie. to make it quieter), but I ended up with minuscule pain in my chest area.
