I let my friend borrow my copy of PHM, which is already heavily annotated. they asked if they could underline stuff too and I said yes. when I got it back yesterday, I saw all of their underlined parts and little notes in the margins and doodles between the lines and I swear to god I have never felt closer to another human being in. my. life. it was like sewing our hearts together and twisting the noodles of our grey matter into a new brain and seeing the world out of their eyes for a second. I have never felt more in love and I think I'll chase that high for as long as I live
