Once a surgeon has scrubbed in and is fully sterile, they must avoid turning their front (sterile side) toward non-sterile areas. If they need to move around or reposition, they may step backward or sideways to keep their sterile front facing the surgical field. This helps prevent contamination of gloves, gown, and instruments.

Its to confuse the patient who thinks the operation is over and doctors are leaving the theatre so that makes the patient to relax and the anesthesia work chup chup!😁
