I love using Worbla to make my gauntlets for my foam armour cosplays! I did the same technique with my Ashei cosplay (even used that pattern as a base for the kris pattern, just did some adjustments!) I find worbla to be the most durable, especially since I do end up using my hands a lot when in Kris cosplay because of the gameshows that we do. The video only shows me creating one finger, but the same process applies for the rest of the gauntlets. Here's how I do it: 1. CREATE A PATTERN - I first create a pattern by using tape and paper. You can either cover your fingers with tape or just eyeball a pattern on paper. Once I have it, I like to digitize it and then print it out on cardstock paper. 2. CARDSTOCK BASE - I find it's easiest to make all the pieces uniform when I have a base i can directly mold the worbla onto. Cardstock will keep the shape I need, especially if I am making something more geometric! It also works if you need something that goes on smoothly. 3. CUT OUT PIECES - I use that same cardstock base to cut out the pieces and prepare them before I start molding them. 4. TAPE ONTO GLOVE & MOLD WORBLA - Now comes the part I showcase in the video! I do this one finger and section at a time, starting from the bottom of each finger (if the layering goes bottom to top). Wearing the gloves from my cosplay, I tape the cardstock down onto my finger. Then, I heat up the worbla until it is workable. Before it cools, I place it right on top of the paper template and use a flat object like a palette knife to shape it into place. Make sure there is nothing that can ident the top of your worbla on your palette knife! I then let this cool down until hardened before repeating the process again on the next segment. 5. REPEAT! It's important to keep the previous segment on your finger so that you can properly layer the next piece (as they won't lay completely flat) do this for all finger joints 6. DETAILS - I do the same thing for the back of the hand - for details I used 2mm EVA foam (cut into a long strip for the edge details). For the knuckles, I made sure to raise them off of the ends of the lowest segment of my fingers with some worbla. It was just a lot of sculpting! 7. PRIME AND PAINT - I then tape all the pieces onto a piece of paper which allowed me to spray them all with plastidip amd spray paint. 8. GLUE - to glue them down, I wear my glove (if possible, with a thin glove underneath to protect my skin in case it seeps through) and I use super glue to attach the pieces directly to the glove. Hot glue also sometimes works! And that's how I made my Kris gauntlets!
