never seen herbs work for mites. apply lime to the wood shavings or sand and keep the coop dry by using ventilation, roof mainance, and sealed wood surfaces with stains or paint.

build a campfire or find some ashes somewhere obviously cool them down so they're not hot and then put them in the chickens area and they will do a dust bath or sprinkle it around in their coop but I recommend putting them large percentage in one spot so they can dust themselves ashes are amazing.
