@staywithcode: Welcome to a building that is full of Edinburgh's history. This building was once part of Edinburgh’s legal world, serving as both a courthouse and jail, in the heart of the Old Town. Today, it’s been carefully reimagined, while still reflecting the character of its past. Above, CODE The Court captures the heritage of being a former courthouse and jail John’s Coffee House takes its name from the original John’s Coffee House, which was located only a short walk away. In the 18th century, it was a regular meeting place for judges, writers and leading figures of the Scottish Enlightenment, a reflection of the area’s long connection to debate and ideas. Below it all lies The Lost Close, a historic passageway off the Royal Mile that was forgotten for more than two centuries, before being rediscovered and reopened to the public. @thelostclose @johnscoffeehouse
