I feel like that's not the case...when I lived there, they just look down Africans because they think we are poor. Plus most Africans that live in Korea are students ( so we don't do petty crime). Koreans usually tend to look down on poor nation like Southeast Asian etc....

This is xenophobic and disgusting. Africans are more disrespected because we largely come from impoverished nations and are seen as poor. Black Americans are more accepted because America exports their media globally as “cool, hip, trendy”.

I don’t think there’s high crimes from African people… but I’ve felt the difference as an American. I think Korea genuinely just has xenophobic tendencies to countries that make less GDP than Korea.

also some africans are treated "better" than others. for instance, I'm South African and my 2 friends are Nigerian. Our accents are vastly different. People assume I'm australian and when I correct then, I still get "you sound good" or whatever. it's crazy
