@syeda_zehra15: Parveen Shakir was a famous Pakistani poet who was born on 24 November 1952 in Karachi. She completed her education in Karachi and earned a Master’s degree in English Literature. From a young age, she had a deep interest in writing and initially used the pen name “Beena” for her poetry. Later, she became widely known by her real name. Her poetry beautifully expressed love, emotions, and the inner feelings of women in a very unique and heartfelt way. Her first poetry collection, “Khushbu,” was published in 1976 and gained instant popularity, giving her a strong place in the literary world. After that, she published several other collections like “Sad-barg,” “Khud-kalami,” and “Inkar.” Besides being a poet, Parveen Shakir was also a civil servant and worked in the Customs Department of Pakistan. Her poetic style was soft, romantic, and deeply touching. She introduced a fresh voice in Urdu poetry by expressing a woman’s perspective with honesty and elegance. She received many awards for her literary contributions and became an inspiration for many writers. On 26 December 1994, she tragically passed away in a car accident in Islamabad, but her poetry continues to live in the hearts of people.
