Bobby was so messed up as a teen but I think he was one who really saw who she was and loved her anyway. The way he broke down 25 years later when the sheriff reopened her case was heartbreaking.

he gave this speech but he was literally apart of the problem he knew that she was struggling, he literally brought her to that drug meet with shelley’s husband, he knew she was really going crazy towards the end and he just let her. but i guess it’s fair because laura also detached from him and distanced from him because she didn’t want him to know what was going on. her diary gives so much more meaning and insight on her and bobby’s relationship, in the beginning he seemed like the good boyfriend who would’ve delivered this speech

Looking back on this scene he was kinda right, everybody saw something wrong with her but didn't bother to step in, of course Bobby is guilty of that himself though. The closest anybody came was Donna but Laura just couldn't trust anyone enough to tell her.
