Tips for a Cape Verde + Senegal Itinerary: Flights: Flying between Cape Verde and Senegal does take some planning, so I recommend booking your flights in advance. We flew with ASKY Airlines, which operates flights to Praia (the capital of Cape Verde) a few times a week. Alternatively, you can fly into Cape Verde from the U.S., then take ASKY to Dakar, Senegal. For inter-island flights, we used Cabo Verde Airlines. Visas and Entry: Traveling to Cape Verde is visa-free for U.S. passport holders. However, you’ll need to pay an airport security tax, which you can do up to 5 days before your trip via the government website (EASE). The cost is €31. Senegal is also visa-free! If you’re entering Senegal from another country, you’ll need to present your yellow fever vaccination card—trust me, they do check. Cape Verde isn’t the easiest destination to plan last-minute.
