I've been in monogamous and polyamorous relationships. Now I'm in a relationship with one person and we're both happy but we both agreed that if one of us falls for someone else, we'll talk about it. We're not actively looking for someone else, but not closed to the idea either. That's a sweet spot I feel fits us very well.

I don't have a problem with polyamory. I have a problem with predatory/abusive men using polyamory as a disguise for cheating. I probably couldn't be in a polyamorous relationship even if I wanted to.

so many people have to qualify that they practice ethical polyamoury, and I love that you mentioned ethical monogamy, because I don't think I have ever heard anyone specify that. It is great to even the field and make each option as legitimate as the other based on preference and needs, rather than assuming monogamy is always ethical and polyamoury needs the specification.

I am polyamorous as well as butch lesbian. I like having two female spouses in my life. All three of us are equals lots of communication honesty straightforwardness that is a lifestyle. I like that is the lifestyle I appreciate because I can love more than one person.

Thank you for the nuanced view! There are often such polarising views from both sides. I had this discussion with my bf when we started dating and we decided that monogamy works better for us, at least for now, and that we would revisit this if either of us needs to.

when my youngest was born, my partner and I actually agreed to be monogamous until she was more independent. we barely had enough left over for eachother on top of taking care of the baby. that conversation really changed how we approach our capacity and our partners.

I think that maybe monogamy needs to be parsed out from marriage in this case, since monogamy is a legitimate way to love like any other but marriage and ownership are control based

Just met you on this post on my FYP. And love this. I would love to have a partner that I allow to have poly relationship. However I know I sadly would get too jealous- and that’s a flaw on my part. So I seek partners who will accept me with that flaw and will practice monogamy while we’re together.
