LET ME TELL YOU THE TRUTH THAT NO ONE ELSE WILL! 👀 I’m genuinely tired of the misinformation circulating throughout the hair industry, especially when it comes to sourcing! JUST BECAUSE YOU’RE BUYING HAIR FROM A CERTAIN COUNTRY DOESN’T MEAN THAT’S WHERE YOUR HAIR ORIGINATED! India is one of the world’s major sources of human hair. Suppliers in countries like Indonesia, Vietnam, and China may import Indian hair, process it, and resell it internationally under different product descriptions. But here’s where things get INTERESTING! Some manufacturers chemically process hair, stripping or damaging its protective cuticle layer to alter its texture and appearance. This can leave hair feeling rougher, drier, or temporarily smoother depending on the treatments used. Hair may also be chemically straightened, curled, or silicone-coated to achieve a particular finish. For example, some Vietnamese suppliers may process imported hair and market it as Cambodian or Burmese hair, even when that isn’t its actual origin! HAIR ORIGIN, SUPPLIER LOCATION, AND PROCESSING LOCATION ARE THREE DIFFERENT THINGS! My Isla Indonesian collection is a perfect example. I purchase from an Indonesian supplier, but that doesn’t automatically mean the hair originated in Indonesia. I chose my supplier because the hair is lightly processed, maintains its integrity, and consistently meets my quality standards! I’ve been sourcing and testing hair suppliers since I was 15 years old, and one thing I’ve learned is that finding a supplier is EASY. Finding one who consistently delivers quality is where the REAL work begins! If you’re entering the hair industry, PLEASE research what you’re purchasing, understand processing, and TEST YOUR HAIR! I offer personally tested vendor downloads and recommend my Ultimate Vendors List for beginners looking to start sourcing! - or view my page for all the freebies :) #hairindustry #vendorsforbusinesses #rawhairextensions #rawindiancurly
