How to build a pitch deck if you’re raising venture capital funds. Guy Kawasaki wrote an article years ago that still holds true today, give it a search it is 100% a must read. I use it as a reference for this video, and I have had it open on a tab for every deck I’ve ever made. it’s important to know that everything is a suggestion, but the most important thing is to do what works for you and your business. If you want to really study up, I would check out LinkedIn‘s series B deck, Airbnb‘s pitch deck, tinders pitch deck (my favorite) and squares pitch deck. Another great is YouTube’s deck. You can find all these through simple Google searches. The biggest mistake people make in their deck is they overly complicate the design and assume people are going to read every word (my biggest error). The key is not to have a super complex design, but to let the words speak clearly. Which is why you need to use a big enough font, and I recommend using black text on a white background. if you’re having trouble finding the words dug by your business, I would invest a lot of time and just thinking about the general narrative and the underlying WHY your business needs to exist. once these things are figured out, it’s so much easier to write everything else. Last note, it’s really important to realize how many nose you get in compared to yeses. Once you get the first, yes everything else begins to snowball, so keep your head up. Let me know if you have any questions! #st#startupa#marketinge#venturecapital
