I’ve been trying to work at this intersection as an obm, but I’m struggling for them to not see me as a va and happily pay me as an obm. I agree that this is so much more valuable but like in their heads, how can they justify my rate for the work itself?

100%, I echo this sentiment as well, I keep hearing from business owners that they are looking for this type of ‘hybrid’ consultants who can oversee the entire cycle of the project with them and their teams. Trust is at the center of this demand.

That’s exactly what I do! It is SO in demand as most organisations have a strategy and an operation department, but rarely anyone to bridge between both. I started in operation, then did strat (and hated it) and now I’m at that crossroad.
