@alimcforever: Founders Federalism Part 4 Virginia’s Aristocracy Virginia’s plantation owners formed a local aristocracy. They dominated land, legislatures, courts, and credit. A “plantation” is not just one man and “his” slaves. It is: • Land granted under royal charter or later state law • Title held by an individual, or a family partnership, or a trust for heirs • Enslaved people listed as assets in probate inventories, wills, and mortgage documents • Overseers and managers — white employees • Credit lines from merchants and banks in cities like London, Liverpool, New York, Boston. Enslaved people and white workers homes are collateral in this financial system. They are pledged to secure loans and bundled into estates when those loans go bad. #wallstreet #History #colonial #foundingfathers #usa

Pulling an old memory out of my head - robert maxwell was involved in education content - can’t remember is this was USA or uk or other. Just throwing this into the more modern realm of your video. Thanks so much for investigating and sharing all this background. It’s so important hat we understand.

Canadian education is run by the provinces, not federally, although there might be broad guidelines sent down.

And then there is the president, who we see from Trump is able to do what ever he pleased. At the time the constitution was written, some said the president was given more powers than the king of England had, which was true, since parliament rules and the king has no direct role. The president can veto Congress but more importantly is simply able to act unilaterally.

Really concise and well put. Would love to hear your thoughts on the radical influences: the Levellers, Thomas Paine etc
