When my husband left me after 43 years, I told anyone who would listen > Uber drivers, the AAA guy, the lady on line in front of me at the grocery store. I know, it was INSANE!! But I was so shocked I couldn’t contain myself. In a crazy way that helped. Everyone offered sympathy, their own stories, their friends’ stories. Somehow it helped. I wasn’t alone. It was a universal experience. It made me realize I would survive this heartbreak. (Loved the book)

My mom left our dad when I was 4. She never spoke a bad word about him to my sister and I. She let him reveal himself to us and allowed us to come to our own conclusions. She was there to pick up the pieces when he emotionally broke us.

I was shocked when my ex husband asked me to do the same thing. I said I wouldn’t say it was amicable, 1. It wasn’t, 2. You need to stand by your choices, decisions and actions while accepting the consequences. Just has I have to say I believed in the wrong person, I live with my embarrassment, failure to see through my love for him.
