@angiefaceee: the most common misconception with pain in pets (and people!) is that ALL pain is visible and it should be obvious. when in reality it isn’t that simple. to me this clip is obvious pain “but she’s still enjoying herself”, and yeah, she’s had this chronic pain for years…it is something her body has learned to “deal with”. as a chronic pain girlie i can relate so heavily lol but even though she “can” do an activity she enjoys i have an obligation as her guardian to ensure she’s as pain free as she can be. toona is in a medication trial right now before we speak to the neurosurgeon about next steps eeeeeep. [video ID] yellow labrador running in slow motion to show the bunny hopping and skipping and stiffness of her back legs due to a condition called tethered cord syndrome. text on screen says “if she was truly in pain, she wouldn’t be able to do all that” #tetheredcordsyndrome #tcsdog

Dog Trainer Kira :
For most dogs, to get to the point of limping/flinching when it is a chronic condition, it has to be already so severe. The amount of clients that cometo me with a small behavior issue that ends up being a pain issue is so high.
