I'm from canada just like you are, my wife and I were told just spread coffee beans or coffee Grimes around your house around your shed. Where you don't want them and that even works in Canada, then they stay away.

Currently visiting Houston from 🇨🇦 and anxious to see my first adult snake. saw a baby go by the road. Anxious as in nervous AF, not excited 😂 There was word a lady in this area had a copperhead on her front pathway last week.

Watch for rats! Snakes always follow rats and mice. Keep the mice and rats away you’ll have no snakes. Moth balls don’t work for either

Houston - saw a few venomous ones in our yard. Get the vibrating stakes to stick in the ground and keep your grass short.

Moved from Canada to Florida 👋 I saw my first snake at an Orlando amusement park a few weeks ago and we've been here a year lol...I've had 4 snake sheds in my yard, but haven't seen one, thank goodness! I'm not a fan! Anyhow, I hear lava rock around the permeriter helps

just let them be. most will slither off when they see you. they serve an important service keeping the rodent population under control. now if you see a rattlesnake, copperhead, cottonmouth or coral snake then call your local snake wrangler. look up their number and stick it on your refrigerator door. oh and welcome to Texas.

I live on an island in the bottoms of east Texas and I get them in my house all the time. their pretty good with rice.
