There’s video footage that’s public of inside the shuttle leading right upto the explosion, they didn’t know anything was going wrong and then suddenly died

They wouldn’t be horrified. They didn’t even comprehend what was happening because they thought it could be fixed. Whenever that happened, they lost consciousness in less than 5 seconds due to the pressurized cabin cracking open and the drop in air pressure made it so their brain couldn’t even register the destruction around them. Due to how high the altitude was, they would not feel like they were suffocating and just simply pass out. They spent their last moments likely trying to fix what was going on, believing it was a type of malfunction with software.

Rick D. Husband (Mission Commander) said this as the plasma started hit the shuttle “It’s amazing it’s getting really bright outside” and this was the response from William C. McCool (Pilot) “you desperately don’t want outside now” joking about the damage that Rick ask NASA to go outside and see but they said it was fine and not to look.
